In summary, my weekend was fabulous.
Started off with a 5K race in South Lake with LaBrett, Peggy and our new fellow 5K’er, Robin. It was a great run through the neighborhood behind the Central Market on 1709. Since I am in the middle of training for the December 1/2 marathon, I probably should have stuck with 1/2 marathon pace, but I didn’t. I would like to blame Robin, but I am not going to do that! All she did was mention wanting to reach her goal of under 29:00 minutes. I said, “Okay…let’s run together. I can help you.” We crossed the finish line with me at 27:21 and and her at 27:24. Pretty sure that is under 29:00. :) She was pleased and I was happy to have been able to help her. And the other good part is that we both placed 2nd in our age group. Happy Day!
And rather than our usual IHOP, we had breakfast at Central Market. It.was.awesome. Thanks Peggy for “making” us go!
Later in the afternoon, LaBrett and I headed out to get our nails done and then go spend some time in Down Town Grapevine. We had a great dinner at The Big Fish and shopped a little bit before our reservation at Painting With A Twist.
We have done Painting With A Twist before but there was this one called Twisted Sister that I just love and badly wanted to try to paint. So, we did! It turns out that another friend of mine, Alys (and her BF) had reservations for the same place and same night. When we found this out, Alys called up to the place to see that we could all 4 get seated together. It was just as much fun this time as it was the first time we went. There was however this one table of girls that I wanted to rip their voice boxes out. They were a drunk, disrespectful, foul mouthed group of girls. I felt sorry for the instructor. She had zero control half way through the night. But, for the most part, it was a fun night and I am sure we will do it again.
